Abstract
This paper presents a novel wideband dissymmetric E-shaped microstrip patch antenna. The proposed antenna has two dissymmetric slots, which are incorporated to perturb the patch surface current path, excite the second and the third resonant modes and increase the antenna bandwidth. As an example, a dissymmetric E-shaped patch antenna, resonating at 3.1 GHz, 3.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz, is designed and fabricated. Compared with the conventional one, the proposed antenna bandwidth is added by 45%. The relative bandwidth reaches 17.8%. The radiation pattern is also presented.
