Abstract
A calibration-independent microwave method is proposed for complex permittivity extraction of 3-D periodic microwire structures. For retrieval process, uncalibrated (raw) complex scattering parameter measurements of two measurement configurations in free-space are utilized. Complex permittivity expressions for its approximate and numerical calculations are derived. The method is validated by retrieving the electrical properties of a homogeneous microwire slab with a pre-assigned plasmonic frequency over which transmission is possible.
