El lenguaje autista desde una perspectiva correlacional

Autistic language from a correlational perspective

Abstract

Despite the recent growing interest on language disorders in infantile autism, there is a notorious lack of research work that analyses the correlation of the language variables between them and with other behavioural variables. This article does perform such an analysis by correlating linguistic variables between them (M.L.U., structural complexity, comprehension, echolalic and social speech, etc.) and with non linguistic variables (global developmental quotient, levels of imitation, perception, motility, ocularlmanual integration and cognitive and verbal/cognitive, P.A.O.D.). The analysis of intergroups data allows the identification of linguistic indexes of interest to conduct the clinical evaluation; it offers the basis of a prognosis evaluation, and situates the language alterations within a global context of anomalies that affect the construction of intentional behaviour, the development of symbolic codes and the symbolic and presymbolic social behaviour.
