Un lugar en el mundo. La educación como proyecto cultural, la cultura como proyecto educativo

Resumen

Se resalta en este editorial el papel central de la cultura en los procesos educativos y cómo los modelos de actuación (sean científicos, sociales, económicos) que la ignoran o la maltratan llevan a un camino sin salida. La ignorancia de la cultura es especialmente grave en la investigación y en el diseño educativos, y su reclamo está en el origen de la creación de la revista Cultura y Educación, cuya trayectoria se examina con motivo del relevo en el equipo editorial. Se exponen las dificultades iniciales de la línea cultural de la revista y se aportan datos cuantitativos sobre los artículos recibidos/publicados, sobre los autores y su procedencia geográfica, sobre los temas publicados y sobre la indización e índices de calidad. Se concluye que gracias al esfuerzo de una activa comunidad de pensamiento (los equipos editoriales, los autores y los evaluadores) esta publicación tiene, junto con el enfoque cultural-educativo, un lugar en el mundo.

Abstract

In this editorial the central role of culture in educational processes is highlighted, along with the fact that those models of intervention (scientific, social, economic) that ignore or ill-treat culture lead to a dead end. Disregarding culture is especially dangerous in educational research and design, and reclaiming it is at the very core of the creation and origin of Cultura y Educación, a journal whose trajectory is herein examined, in the occasion of the renewal of its Editorial Board. The initial difficulties surrounding the journal's cultural editorial line are revealed, and some quantitative data are provided regarding received and published articles, authors and their geographic origin, the subjects considered, and indexing and quality ratings. We conclude that thanks to the effort of an active community of thinking (editorial boards, authors and referees) this publication has attained, along with the cultural-educational approach, its place in the world.
