Abstract

The development of values and attitudes has always constituted a fundamental pillar of the Physical Education curriculum. It is currently made explicit by official curriculums that establish, as general objectives, that pupils must be able to adopt a critical attitude to treatment of the body, physical activity, and sport in a social context. The paper presents a programme carried out at a Secondary School, —illustrating a possible educational orientation—aimed at stimulating a critical sense towards manifestations that arise in sporting activities, which reflect attitudes and behaviours that occur in society: gender differences and inequalities, the exaggerated cult of the body that we find as response, often misguided, to the corporal health-aesthetics binomial, and the repeated situations of violence that take place in sporting contexts. A brief presentation is made of the activities designed and a web-based multimedia program used as educational resource.
