The XXXIV World Congress of the International Society of Hematology (ISH) will be held on 25–28 April 2012 in Cancun, México. It will be a joint meeting with the LIII Congress of the Agrupación Mexicana para el Estudio de la Hematología A.C. (AMEH). The ISH was founded in 1946, and the AMEH formed in 1959.
The very first meeting of the ISH was held in 1946 in both Dallas and México City and, in 1962, the IX World Congress of the ISH was held in México City.
The ISH and AMEH have previously held one joint meeting in México: in 1994, the XXXV Congress of the AMEH took place in Cancún together with the XXV Congress of the ISH, with an attendance of 2,600 delegates.
Dr. Guillermo J. Ruiz-Argüelles, current ISH president, 2010–2012, and Dr. Carlos Martinez-Murillo president elect of AMEH for 2011–2013 are organizing this joint meeting and we look forward to building on the success of our previous collaboration.
