Abstract

A new ionic polymer metal composite is fabricated by the addition of multiwalled carbon nanotubes into Nafion® in our study, which can be called multiwalled carbon nanotubes/ionic polymer metal composite. The Nafion membranes are doped with multiwalled carbon nanotubes forming multiwalled carbon nanotubes /Nafion, and the surface of composite electrodes is coated with platinum layers by chemical reduction plating method. The modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes /ionic polymer metal composite exhibits an enormous improvement at resistance and maximum output force through the experiments. This novel multiwalled carbon nanotubes /ionic polymer metal composite can enlarge the application in both medical and industrial fields because of its superior properties.
