Editorial

The first issue of Cochlear Implants International for this year was, as you will have noticed, in a new A4 format, with the text in double columns. This larger format allows us to print more papers in each issue, thus shortening the time interval between a paper being accepted for publication and its appearance in print. In parallel, we are also in a position to publish all new papers online as part of Fast Track publication, as soon they have been accepted and the proofs corrected. We will continue to accept case reports, though the heading of ‘Case Reports’ in issue 12.1 is misleading in the case of some of the articles that followed, for which we apologise.

This issue is accompanied by a Supplement of the Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Auditory Technologies, containing key note papers and extended peer-reviewed abstracts from the CI2010 meeting held last year in Stockholm.

Cochlear Implants International was founded by the British Cochlear Implant Group in 2000 and remains the BCIG's official Journal. Our Journal is now also affiliated with four other national organisations:

•.

Cochlear Implant Group of India

•.

South African Cochlear Implant Group

•.

Canadian Cochlear Implant Centres Group

•.

The William House Cochlear Implant Study Group

The members of these organisations receive the printed and/or online version of the Journal at preferential rates.

As always we are most grateful for the dedicated support of our Editorial Board and of our reviewing panel. We also gratefully acknowledge the financial support of our advertisers.

We have always encouraged correspondence about articles published and any other relevant topics, though without a great deal of response! Please do write in, as a regular correspondence page would be a useful extra feature for our journal.

For non-subscribers, abstracts and editorials are available online free of charge at www.ingentaconnect.com/content/maney/cii and you can register for free table of contents alerts at www.maney.co.uk/online/tocs.

Lastly the Editors are most grateful to all the staff at Maney Publishing who continue to provide a really excellent level of support.
