Orthotrichum scanicum Grönvall in Derbyshire: an epiphytic moss new to Britain

I am very grateful to Professor Francisco Lara for confirming my identification of O. scanicum, and to Malcolm Watling for preparation of the figure. I also thank Michael Pearman for accompanying me on visits to Morton Colliery, and particularly for his sharp eyes in relocating the species on our second visit. Nick Law first drew my attention to the bryological interest of this site.
