Abstract
Electroless composite plating of (Ni–P)–Fe3O4 nanoparticles on PET fabric was performed in the laboratory. The (Ni–P)–Fe3O4 coated fabric was investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric and X‐ray diffraction analysis. The electromagnetic shielding performance and abrasion resistance were also measured. The results showed that the onset decomposition temperature of electroless composite plated fabric was lower than that of the original one. The shielding effectiveness of (Ni–P)–Fe3O4 plated fabric increased with increasing the add‐ons of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. As compared with the Ni–P plated fabric, the abrasion resistance of (Ni–P)–Fe3O4 plated fabric became worse.
