TG-DSC analysis of biomass heat capacity during pyrolysis process

Abstract

A study of the heat exchanges in the early stages of the biomass pyrolysis is performed in this work. A thermogravimetry/differential scanning calorimetry device was employed to perform the tests. First, the specific heat capacity of several biomasses is calculated for a determined temperature range, obtaining a fitting curve for each case. Then, using derivative thermogravimetry curves, heat exchanges during the pyrolysis of the same samples are related with the composition in the three main components of the biomass.
