Letters: Viewpoints on current issues
Letters is an occasional series that includes letters to the editor and op-ed pieces on topics and trends of current interest within the Journal's areas of focus and/or related questions for research and practice. Potential publication is subject to the approval of the editorial team. Please note that Letters are not technical comments or opinions on peer-reviewed articles published by the Journal, so we do not accept these kinds of contributions. Letters may be reviewed but as this is not usually a peer-reviewed section of the Journal, they should not contain primary data.
Not all Letters will be acknowledged. Full addresses, titles and affiliations, signatures, email, daytime phone numbers, and conflict of interest disclosure should be included with all submissions. Letters should be brief (up to 300 words for letters to the editors, and up to 1300 words for op-ed pieces). Op-ed pieces should include 4-5 references and can be authored by a maximum of 3 authors. Accepted Letters will appear in print and online. For general format guidelines for all submissions to JCIH, please visit http://www.maneyonline.com/ifa/cih and consult the Manuscript preparation and Presentation conventions sections of these instructions.
All accepted Letters (both letters-to-editor and op-ed pieces) may be edited for reasons of clarity or space. Proofs are sent by e-mail. Occasionally, Letters have to be cut after proofs have been sent or further modified. JCIH will endeavor to ensure authors see these changes, but cannot guarantee to do so. As Letters is an informal, fast-turnaround section, which provides a discussion forum on current issues and trends within areas of interest of the Journal, we ask contributors not to send pre-submission inquiries.
Submissions should be sent as a Word file by e-mail to [email protected]
All viewpoints discussed in this section are only those of the Letters' authors and do not represent the opinions of the Journal of Communication in Healthcare: Strategies, Media, and Engagement in Global Health, its publisher, editorial board and staff.
