Abstract
The publication of the paper by Dr. D. H. Jack and Professor J. Nutting on ‘Phase Transformations’ in the present issue, together with the three earlier papers, published in Vol. 18, March, 1973, by Dr. J. A. Catterall on ‘Developments in Alloy Theory, (p. 19), by Professor J.W. Christian on ‘Dislocation Morphology’(p. 24), and by Dr. P. M. Kelly on 'The Quantitative Relationship between Microstructure and Properties in Two-Phase Alloys’ (p. 31), completes the quartet specially commissioned under the general title of ‘Progress Report on Recent Advances in Physical Metallurgy’. This is the second of the ‘Progress Report’ series, the first of which appeared under the co-ordinating editorship of Dr. J. Mackowiak. It was concerned with advances in extraction metallurgy and was published in Metallurgical Reviews (1971, Vol. 16, p. 47 et seq.).
