Bryophyte colonization of soils damaged by fire in south-east Spain: a preliminary report on dynamics

Pages 275-288 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

A study was made of bryophyte colonization of forest soils in six sites in SE Spain which had been burnt at different times between 1982 and 1988. A list of 59 taxa is included and their presence analysed as a function of the time elapsed after the fires. Their behaviour is described with soil pH, N, organic matter and C/N ratio being taken into consideration.
