Family-Centered Care in the Critical Care Setting: Myth or Reality?

Abstract

Family-centered care (FCC) has been upheld as the standard for providing quality health care for children However, some professionals question its applicability in the critical care setting Despite the barriers to FCC ACCHs eight essential elements of FCC can provide the bases for devising strategies for successfully implementing FCC in the critical care setting.
