Educational psychologists bring distinctive approaches to the understanding and teaching of literacy. These approaches focus on understanding the learner's psychological processes and knowledge bases involved in comprehension and understanding. In the 21st century, the concept of literacy will evolve to include the thinking skills involved in comprehension and in problem solving on the job.
