From Metropolis to Never-neverland: Analyzing Fictional Characters in a Personality Theory Course

Pages 153-155 | Published online: 20 Nov 2009

Abstract

To enhance learning in a course on personality theories, students write four short papers, each interpreting the personality of a fictional character from a comic strip or children's story by using a specific theoretical orientation: psychoanalytic, dispositional, phenomenological, and behavioral. Advantages and other aspects of this technique are discussed, as are student evaluations.
