Michitake Aso

Michitake Aso is assistant professor of the global environment in the Department of History at the University at Albany–State University of New York. Before landing in Albany, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National University of Singapore. In 2014–15 he was a fellow at the Institute for Historical Studies, University of Texas at Austin. He is currently finishing a book-length manuscript titled Rubber Nation: Ecology, Health, and Labor in the Making of Vietnam, 1897–1975, which explores the transformation of environments, human health, and knowledge through the places and people involved in rubber production in Vietnam.
