Abstract

The olivil type of lignan, (2S,3R,4R)-4-benzyl-4- hydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-2-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)tetrahydrofuran, was stereoselectively synthesized from D-xylose.
