Student and Field Instructor Perceptions of Field Placements in Child Welfare

Pages 61-77 | Published online: 15 Oct 2008

ABSTRACT

The student-field instructor relationship is a distinctive one and assessing their separate perspectives has been the subject of some recent studies. In the current study, social work students and their field instructors in one state were surveyed to assess their satisfaction with field placements in child welfare. Both sets of respondents were generally satisfied with several aspects of field education, although their perceptions of many field work characteristics differed.
