SUMMARY

This paper discusses the effects of heterosexism on health and mental health services to gay and lesbian clients. It provides social workers with suggestions for making unbiased psycho-social assessments and interventions, and discusses the social worker's role in educating health and mental health professionals and serving as advocate for this oppressed population.
