Summary
The editorial board of Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly(ATQEB) was polled about their perceptions of significant trends in the treatment of alcohol problems, from 1980-2000. They identified the major influences, positive and negative, together with the effects on treatment initiatives in response to managed behavioral health care, the decline of inpatient services, increased emphasis on drugs other than alcohol, and the changing character of treatment providers.
