Abstract
This commentary urges further consideration of the terminology and harmonization of the diagnostic terms used in the several fields and phases of alcohol and chemical addictions as introduced in the two publications in this issue of ATQ by Gail G. Milgram and John F. Kelly. The purpose of such efforts should be to facilitate appropriate and speedy care and treatment of individuals affected by addictions.
