Validation of the “Big Five” Personality Traits in Korea

Abstract

The “Big Five” personality construct has been developed within a Western context, to better operationalize the personality variable. The study reported here extends the work to Korea and finds the same personality structure represented in that country. Moreover, the extension is carried further by successfully linking the Big Five personality construct to both an accepted customer buying typology and to “product personality.”
