Addiction and Recovery in Homosexuality

Pages 65-71 | Published online: 22 Oct 2008

ABSTRACT

When the term addiction is stated, most people automatically think of drug and alcoholic addiction. Very few people will connect homosexuality with addiction, however, contrary to popular belief, many homosexuals struggle ultimately with sexual addiction as well as unhappiness about their sexuality. The basis of this report is two-fold. One is to present a look at sexual addiction and how it can apply to the homosexual. The other is to present ministries that help homosexuals overcome their sexual addictions and other struggles. These ministries respond to the homosexual in understanding from Biblical and interpersonal perspectives since the homosexual faces experiences that become contrary to his or her faith and are devastating and destructive.
