Abstract
Narrative Family therapy provides children, families and helping professionals with an empowering alternative treatment model to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Narrative Therapy conforms well to the developmental abilities of children and embraces the knowledge, skill and resources of the entire family system. The case of 9-year-old Sarah is presented to illustrate the strengths of adopting a narrative approach to working with children and families experiencing the oppressive influences of paediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
