Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate a court-mandated educational program for divorcing parents, the Focus on Kids (FOK) program. The participants for this study were 376 (54.8% females) divorcing, divorced, or never married parents who attended the FOK program over a 6-month period in 1999. In addition to describing participants' ratings of the helpfulness of the program, the research addressed whether these helpfulness ratings varied by a series of demographic, marriage, and child-related variables. Results showed that, in general, participants were very satisfied with the helpfulness of the program, and this general satisfaction held across most subgroups defined by the demographic, marriage, and child-related variables. Implications for future program planning are discussed.
