ABSTRACT
This article provides an overview of issues pertaining to use of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III (MCMI-III) in forensic evaluations. Specific attention is given to the issue of admissibility, general standards for use, advantages and disadvantages of using the MCMI-III in forensic settings, and preparation of court testimony. Overall, several facets of the MCMI-III make it relevant and helpful in forensic evaluations. However, forensic experts must also be prepared to acknowledge limitations of the test and should utilize test results in a manner that can be supported by empirical evidence.
