Abstract
Based on Australian research on 60 bisexual men and women, this article examines the variety of ways participants arranged their intimate relationships. While some participants were monogamous, others had negotiated some level of ‘openness’ in their relationships. Those who chose to have open relationships did so in a variety of ways; however, issues such as jealousy, setting boundaries, and communicating needs to partners often arose. Nonetheless, participants worked hard to overcome these difficulties through honesty and communication, and as such these findings go some of the way in addressing the common stereotypes of bisexual men and women as dishonest, untrustworthy partners.
