Abstract
The authors tested a prediction of the sociocognitive model of dissociative disorders: that inpatients with dissociative disorders in a Trauma Program should be more extraverted on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator than inpatients in a general adult program. There was a significantly higher prevalence of introverts among 50 inpatients in the Trauma Program (90%) than among 50 inpatients in a general adult program (56%). Conceptual implications of these findings are discussed.
