The Multicultural Model in Chemical Abuse Prevention and Intervention

Abstract

This paper focuses on the concept of multicultur-alism in relation to the development of chemical abuse prevention and intervention programs. It includes a model for implementation and describes projects that have a similar conceptual base. The author acknowledges the cultural foundations for developing the individual's positive self-understanding and builds on this to promote the development of culture-specific prevention strategies.
