Abstract
Plants of short-day strawberry cultivar ‘Elsanta’ (Fraga-ria X ananassa Duch.) were grown in peat bags with six rates of iron (Fe) in the nutrient solution (0,10, 20, 30, 60 and 120 μmol/liter). A Fe leaf value lower than 45 ppm on a dry matter basis was associated with deficiency symptoms. A minimum concentration of 10 μmol/liter Fe in the nutrient solution was considered satisfactory for growth and good fruit production of ‘Elsanta’ grown on peat bags.
