Abstract
This paper reviews previously published technical documents regarding the promotion of sexual health through effective public polity. These documents are highly consistent in their recommendations for creating a sexually healthier world. These include: creating better climates for discussion of sexuality; increasing access to information and education about sexuality; providing education and training to professionals working in sexual health-related fields; developing prevention strategies to include community-based interventions; developing and providing access to comprehensive sexual health care services; enacting legislation that enhances and ensures sexual health; increasing research in human sexuality and evaluation of programs designed to promote sexual health; and recognizing sexual health as a basic human right.
