Advances in Neutronic Capability for Fusion Reactor Design Optimization

Pages 1069-1075 | Published online: 17 Jan 2018

Abstract

Three advances in neutronic computational capability are described: (1) conception of “equal system cost material effectiveness functions”; (2) derivation of nuclide inventory perturbation theory; and (3) development of multi-constraint optimization method. These advances provide insightful information on the design; open possibilities for improving the effectiveness of fusion reactor design process; and may lead to improved designs.
