Patent Update: Pulmonary-Allergy, Dermatological, Gastrointestinal & Arthritis: The search for inhibitors of the phospholipases A₂

Abstract

This review presents an appraisal of the patent literature concerning inhibitors of the various phospholipase A₂ enzymes published between mid 1993 and April 1995, and is a continuation of a previous Patent Update which appeared in August 1993. The 47 patents reviewed are discussed under the categories of natural products, substrate analogues and other miscellaneous inhibitors. A further 36 references to articles in the primary literature are included to place the patent literature in context.
