Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy

Statement of Retraction: Shripad N Pal, Theodoros Kofidis “Therapeutic potential of genes in cardiac repair” and “New cell therapies in cardiology”.

The Editor and Publisher regret to announce the following articles published in 2012/2013 have been retracted from publication in Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy:

Shripad N Pal, Theodoros Kofidis. Therapeutic potential of genes in cardiac repair. Expert. Rev. Cardiovascular Ther. 11(8), 1015-1028 (2013)

Shripad N Pal, Theodoros Kofidis. New cell therapies in cardiology. Expert. Rev. Cardiovascular Ther. 10(8), 1023-1037 (2012)

Following an institutional investigation, T Kofidis informed the journal that the manuscripts contain a high degree of similarity from other sources and were heavily plagiarised by the assigned first author.

SN Pal has accepted that significant duplication of content was carried out for both reviews and tenders his sincerest apologies. T Kofidis deeply regrets this incident that escaped his awareness and extends his profound apologies to the Journal audience.

The journal's policy in this respect is clear: Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they are original work, have been submitted only to Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy, that they have not been published already, nor are they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere.

Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy published this article in good faith, and on the basis of signed statements of the corresponding author regarding the originality of their work. The article is withdrawn from all print and electronic editions.
