Abstract
There is increasing interest in the evaluation and treatment of patent foramen ovale, which has been associated with various pathologic conditions, such as cryptogenic stroke, platypnea–orthodeoxia syndrome and migraine. However, optimal treatment of patients with patent foramen ovale has not been established. This article aims to review the clinical manifestation and current therapeutic options for patent foramen ovale.
