Dear editor

We were very impressed with the article entitled “Development and Validation of the Curiosity of Climate Changes Scale”. The results of this research have advantages, namely: 1) This study produced a valid and reliable measuring instrument to measure the level of curiosity related to climate change. This makes an important contribution to the development of research instruments in the field of environmental psychology, 2) Demonstrates the relationship between curiosity related to climate change with other assessment instruments, such as the environmental identity scale and the generational time perspective scale, 3) The developed measuring instrument can be used by environmental educators and teachers to obtain information about individual interest in climate change, 4) Provides an important contribution to the field of environmental psychology by expanding understanding of curiosity related to climate change and its relationship with other psychological variables.Citation1

However, we have also discovered several limitations that need to be corrected in the future, namely: 1) The sample consisted of young individuals, so generalization of the findings to a wider population may be limited, 2) Data collection was conducted online using Google Sheets, which may cause bias in the data, 3) Although the gender of the respondents was controlled for in the construction of the questionnaire, further analysis of gender differences in climate change-related curiosity was not conducted, 4) This study did not include an analysis of the stability of the measuring instrument over time.

To obtain better results, we recommend that further research be carried out by 1) Using more controlled data collection methods, such as direct surveys or interviews, to ensure better data quality and validity, 2) Conduct a more in-depth analysis of gender differences in climate change curiosity. This will provide a better understanding of the factors that influence interest in climate change based on gender,Citation2 3) Conduct stability testing of the measurement tools over time to ensure consistency of measurement,Citation3 4) Conduct a more in-depth analysis of the linkages between climate change curiosity and other assessment instruments. This will help in a better understanding of the factors associated with climate change curiosity.
