Abstract
Selivanova O.N. 2009. Gloiocladia guiryi (Selivanova) comb. nov. – a new name for the first member of the family Faucheaceae (Rhodymeniales, Rhodophyta) from the Russian Pacific. Phycologia 48: 439–440. DOI: 10.2216/09-22.1.
The only member of the family Faucheaceae (Rhodymeniales, Rhodophyta) found on Russian Pacific coasts (Commander Islands, Bering Sea) is Fauchea guiryi Selivanova. A recent taxonomic revision of the genus Fauchea has resulted in the transfer of many Fauchea species, including the generitype F. repens (C. Agardh) Montagne & Bory de Saint-Vincent to Gloiocladia, which necessitates a transfer of Fauchea guiryi as Gloiocladia guiryi (Selivanova) comb. nov.
