In the Technology Report by Jesse V Jokerst and John T McDevitt, entitled Programmable nano-bio-chips: multifunctional clinical tools for use at the point-of-care (Nanomedicine 5[1], 143–155 [2010]; www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.2217/nnm.09.94), in the last paragraph on page 148, the original text states that:
“Compared with control (n = 21) samples, logistic regression and AUC for receiver-operator characteristic analysis indicated that acute myocardial infarction-positive saliva specimens (n = 41) analyzed with the NBC gave AUC values of 0.85 (p < 0.0001) [40].”
The sentence should have read:
“Compared with control (n = 21) samples, logistic regression and AUC for receiver-operator characteristic analysis indicated that acute myocardial infarction-positive saliva specimens (n = 41) analyzed for a seven-biomarker panel with a surrogate method based on Luminex® instrumentation gave AUC values of 0.85 (p < 0.0001) before a four-biomarker translation to the NBC [40].”
