Abstract

The widespread use of exogenous sex steroids for contraception, treatment of climacteric deficiency symptoms, etc., has led to the development of new compounds and combinations. Before new combinations of exogenous sex steroids or new steroidal compounds are introduced in clinical practice, evaluation of possible adverse metabolic effects should be mandatory.
