It has come to our attention that the laboratory we use changed the analysis method for insulin during our data collection period. Before March 2007 the method used was competitive radioimmunoassay (Linco Research Inc, St Charles, MO, USA) and after March 2007 insulin levels were analyzed with noncompetitive immunofluorometric assay (DELFIA kit form Wallac OY, Turku, Finland).

We have therefore recalculated the insulin values analyzed after March 2007, and repeated the statistical analyses in . The association between leptin and both insulin and HOMA became somewhat stronger, but the association between the other two adipokines and insulin or HOMA did not change.

Please find the corrected table below. The values that changed are shown in bold.
