Metabolism of γG-globulin in the Nephrotic Syndrome in Adults

Abstract

Eleven patients out of sixteen with the nephrotic syndrome had a subnormal concentration of γG-globulin in serum. The low concentration was caused partly by urinary loss and partly by an increased catabolic rate of γG-globulin. The rate of synthesis was increased in eleven out of sixteen patients. This may indicate an abnormal function of the immune apparatus in the nephrotic syndrome.
