Abstract

A simple and rapid single antibody radioimmunoassay for the accurate determination of urinary albumin in the normal range of concentrations is described. Microfiltration is used for the separation of free and antibody- bound radioalbumin. The specificity and reliability of the immunoassay is investigated in experiments on dilution, recovery, and following the addition of other proteins. The influence of time and temperature is studied. The range of 24-hour excretion of urinary albumin in 6 normal male subjects was 8.6–12.6 mg.
