Abstract
Activity of α-1,4-glucosidase was studied in liver homogenates and serum from patients with extrahepatic cholestasis due to common bile duct stone and in serum from patients with acute viral hepatitis. In extrahepatic cholestasis the activity of α-1,4-glucosidase in the liver was decreased. In extrahepatic cholestasis as well as acute viral hepatitis the serum activity of α-1,4-glucosidase was the same as in healthy controls.
