Abstract
In 52 healthy students repeated dumping provocations with 0.5 mg apomorphine injected subcutaneously showed that the frequency with which vasovagal attacks occurred was much lower in the recumbent than in the sitting position. No vasovagal attacks occurred when the provocations werc repeated. In 9 patients with severe incapacitating dumping, repeated dumping provocations performed in the sitting as well as in the recumbent position showed no difference in the dumping symptoms. It is thus recommended that the apomorphine test bc performed in patients lying down.
