To the Editor:
In reviewing the results presented in our recent report [Citation1], we discovered a tenfold error in dilution of televancin. The MIC50 and MIC90 of the 22 distinct isolates of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus were each 0.25 μg/ml rather than 2.5 μg/ml as originally reported, and the range was 0.125 to 0.5 μg/ml. These results were confirmed by testing at an independent laboratory (JMI Laboratories, North Liberty, Iowa, Dr. Ron Jones, Director). We apologize for this error. The reported rate of killing by televancin also needs to be interpreted in light of the fact that the concentration utilized was 1 × MIC, not 10 × MIC as originally reported.
