Abstract

Thirty-seven episodes of homograft rejection occurred in 25 of 35 renal transplants from living related donors. the diagnosis of rejection was based on a number of clinical parameters of which the most useful ones were plasma creatinine, isotope nephrography, and fine needle aspiration biopsy. Hypercorticoid habitus, fungal and bacterial infections, haematological and skeletal complications were relatively frequent. Correlation to HL-A compatibility showed that both the number and severity of rejections are higher the poorer the histocompatibility.
