Abstract
1. A new sulphur-containing metabolite of 1-allyl-3,5-diethyl-6-chlorouracil, identified as 6,8-diethyl-2-hydroxymethyltetrahydrothiazolo[3,2-c]pyrimidine-5,7 (4H,6H)-dione, has been demonstrated in rabbit urine.
2. The mechanism of the formation of this metabolite is discussed and a metabolic pathway for the formation of methylthio metabolites is proposed.
