Abstract
This paper describes P-LARSP, an adaptation of the LARSP profile for Persian. It is based on data collected as part of a longitudinal study of three monolingual Persian-speaking children between the ages of 1;8 and 3;0, 2;2 and 3;2 and 2;4 and 3;4, and the resulting profile chart represents the full range of grammatical structures produced by these children. As well as providing the first published overview of the acquisition of Persian syntax and morphology the profile also constitutes an outline description of contemporary spoken Persian, a pro-drop, inflectional and mostly verb-final language which has been very little studied. In addition, the P-LARSP profile is also the first formal procedure devised for assessing language impairment in Persian, and can be used to compare the language of different children as well as the same child's language at different stages of development.
